Eat right – A beginner’s guide to healthy eating
Eating well and buying the right kinds of products; it’s hard to find somebody who doesn’t have this ambition these days. It’s not so easy to sort fact from fiction, however, and that’s exactly what we’ll be doing in this workshop. We’ll tackle questions like: are there facts underlying some of the food fads and myths, what about “superfoods”, for example? How can we prevent and protect our bodies from diseases by eating right from an early age? Are food supplements really that important and effective? If so when and how should they be used? Parents, i.e. grown-ups, are usually aware of the importance of good nutrition. But how do you encourage picky eaters or try to introduce them to new and interesting foods?
This interactive workshop will focus on healthy eating habits and also provide valuable information for parents on how to encourage young children, pre-teens to enjoy the right kinds of foods. We’ll use questionnaires and games to explore and discover the hidden fat and sugar content of products. During the group discussions, you’ll learn about different eating habits and get new ideas for providing snacks and healthy drinks for the whole family. The information presented is based on findings from the German Association of Nutrition & Dietetics, German Nutrition and Medical Association and the Institute for Nutrition and Dietetics.
