Free Placement Test

In case you reach a lower score, you can still participate in a number of Language&Skills courses. We very much recommend that you spend some extra time working on your accuracy, though. Take a close look at the mistakes you made on the placement test, you can also print it out. Mistakes tend to cluster around word order, questions, negations and the use of the present perfect vs the simple past.

Under "Grammar" at the top of the menu on the left, you will find explanations and exercises. Spend about 30 to 45 minutes working on the topics which gave you trouble in the placement test. Repeat this until you make no more mistakes. It is absolutely crucial that you don't just read the explanations, but do the exercises. Learning means doing, active engagement, not passive reception of knowledge. Remember the analogy of going to the gym: you have to do it repeatedly and regurlarly if you want see results, just doing it once won't do anything for you.
