The New Machine Age

Making sense of the digital revolution

Computers have learned to diagnose diseases, drive cars, write clean prose and win game shows. Thanks to the powerful effect of exponential growth, the speed of change is going to increase and the changes on the horizon are more radical than most people imagine. We want to help individuals and businesses to use these unprecedented technological capabilities to their advantage instead of seeing them as competition.

We have developed this short version of our successful 3day workshop "The New Machine Age" to help spread the message and reach people beyond the usual tech and IT crowd. You'll get a brief introduction to key concepts like exponential growth, the law of accelerating returns and the latest advances in machine learning. We'll beam the digital revolution's protagonists like Peter Diamandis and Ray Kurzweil into our classroom to engage them in a critical discussion.

The highly interactive concept is focused on learner participation and training communication skills. We will start at 10.00am, take a 15 minute break at 11am and finish at 1.00pm.

René Lindner has been covering technology as a journalist ever since he started writing professionally for "FNE", an English language financial publication based in Prague. After writing content for "At work", a Henkel corporate magazine for several years, he became the editor for a magazine published by one of the world's leading manufacturers for smart metering technology. This gave him a unique chance to observe the impact of the digital revolution on a conservative and a vitally important industry. For more than ten years, he has been keeping a close eye on the visions, promises and threats associated with digital revolution's impact on the economy and the society as a whole.
